LEGO UH-1 Iroquois "Huey" Military Helicopter Vignette

For the June building contest in the DeviantART LEGO Fan Club, we had to design a military aircraft. I had been playing around with soldiers for some time and thought this would be the perfect time to bring them into the mix. Before I forget, I would like to thank Nick Moore from the LEGO Store for the interesting new way of designing a LEGO Minifigure assault gun. Thanks Nick! I think this model took about 16 hours total to design and build. I had one prototype, but quickly scrapped that for this version. A wise decision, I think. This helicopter is based on multiple reference photos and built to minifigure scale. I'm pretty happy with the result, and can't wait to see how it does in the contest. For additional pictures of this model from different angles check out my BrickShelf Gallery. Good luck to all my fellow builders!

Please check out my Flickr page for more pictures of different angles of not only this model but more: [link] Thanks!

OK, what exactly I do wrong that no one seems to see my models?

That might be a rhetoric question/\.

oh wow! not bad! i love the way you edited the photo. it looks great! ( where'd you get so many grey pieces!)

To be honest, I have so many pieces now I have no idea where any of it came from. I actually have an entire room dedicated to my computer and LEGO! It doesn't help having to go to work everyday and look at more of it! Thanks for the comment!

oh wow. an entire room o_o to think what i could do with so many... the thoughts are almost orgasmic... (i said almost...) how long have you been building?

Since I was, I dunno, 5 or 6? I used to have a lot more but passed them down to my younger siblings. After about 5 years I decided I needed them back only to realize they had lost nearly half my original collection. But I have easily tripled my original at this point.

wow. immense. i definitely need to get some more at some point. (preferably in a specific color scheme. i'm really sick of only being able to build things that look like a lazy rainbow scheme.

Very well crafted rendition of a classic chopper (another practice I'm familiar with)! Although the thing that really stands out to me here is the spikey bush in the bottom right corner - it doesn't look like the standard LEGO green but rather a dirty olive green. Is it a megabloks imitation? I've never seen such a color to produced by LEGO.

No, it's LEGO but I'm afraid I had to spray paint it tan. This is definately not something I do or recommend but was needed for a stop motion film so I thought I would throw it in. Caught me...

Very, very cool. The little bit of desert and brick totally completes the piece! :D
